Pupil Deprivation Grant (PDG) Funding Information

It has been a requirement since the commencement of the grant programme in 2012 and applies to all schools in receipt of PDG funds that all schools in receipt of the funding publish details of the grant.  The purpose of publishing this information is to ensure that there is transparency around the spending of this grant and that this information is readily available to parents and other interested parties.

Information for our school is as follows:-

  • The total number of pupils on school roll for September 2014 is 281
  • The school’s FSM population is under 25%
  • This is the same as the FSM population for the previous year
  • The total allocation of PDG to this school for September 2014 to July 2015 is £28,896
  • The school undertakes the following activities in order to support pupils facing the challenges of poverty and deprivation:
    • Intervention / catch up groups - Literacy and numeracy based from Y1 - Y6 with a focus on FSM pupils
    • Continuation of successful initiative involving 2 high level TAs released for 1 day a week to work closely with parents of targeted pupils to improve attendance and attainment. The focus is on pupils in poverty and those in vulnerable groups. Staff will assist parents in supporting their children in their learning and will also work with them in addressing attendance and punctuality issues. They will also deliver Silver Seal - FP and emotional literacy - KS2 to enhance emotional development. Literacy and numeracy interventions will be delivered in both phases.
  • The school’s PDG, SEG and WEG Plans are regularly scrutinised by the Governing Body, supported by advice from the EAS and monitored by the Local Authority.
